Cranberries aren’t just for Thanksgiving, they can be used year round in a relaxing facial. These facial treatments can be expensive at trendy spas, but you can make your own cranberry facial mask at home for just a fraction of the cost.
The enzymes in cranberries have moderate levels of vitamin C, dietary fiber and the essential dietary mineral, manganese, as well as a balanced profile of other essential micronutrients that will leave your skin healthy and silky smooth.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup seedless grapes, green or red
- Resealable plastic container
- Stick or regular blender
- Small mixing bowl (if using a stick blender)
- 3 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 envelope plain gelatin
- 1 tsp. oat or almond powder
Instructions:
- Put the cranberries and grapes in a small mixing bowl and puree them with a stick blender. You also can use a regular blender.
- Add the lemon juice, gelatin and oat or almond powder, and continue to blend until the mixture makes a paste. If the mixture is too thick, add a few drops of water, if it’s too thin add more oat or almond powder.
- Spoon the cranberry facial mixture into a resealable plastic container and refrigerate it for at least 45 minutes, or until it thickens.
- Remove the facial mixture from the refrigerator and let it warm for about 8 to 10 minutes before using.
- Apply the cranberry facial to clean, dry skin, with your fingertips, and let it remain on the face for about 15 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water.
