Who needs Botox when you have bananas? That’s right! You can use a banana as an all-natural skin care mask that moisturizes your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tbsp. rosewater
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp. almond oil
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 to 1 tbsp. oatmeal
- 2 cucumber slices
Instructions:
- Peel the banana and put it in the bowl. Mash it with a fork until it is nearly smooth.
- Add the rosewater, egg yolk and almond oil to the bowl. Mash and stir the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Add the flour gradually until the banana mixture forms a loose paste. Add the oatmeal to the paste and combine thoroughly.
- Wash your face with soap and water and dry completely. Apply the mask to your face and neck, steering clear of your eyes. Place the cucumber slices over your eyes and relax for 20 minutes.
- Remove the mask with warm water.
Pros:
Bananas smooths, softens and nourishes your skin. The oil and fat in the mask protect your skin, allowing it to rebuild its protective layers. The oatmeal exfoliates your skin and soothes pores irritated by acne.
Cons:
One is oral allergy syndrome which causes itching and swelling in the mouth or throat within one hour after ingestion and is related to birch tree and other pollen allergies. The other is related to latex allergies and causes urticaria and potentially serious upper gastrointestinal symptoms.
